Absolutely perfect!
I'm not a fan of Amazon, and avoid them when I can so discovering Kobo was a pleasant surprise! I ordered my Clara HD Kobo after realizing that it had the integration to work with Overdrive. It shipped quickly and without issue, arriving in great time.
The product itself is exactly what I wanted, paper-light screen, with backlighting that can be made warmer. The Overdrive integration means I can borrow library books with I love.

EReader never arrived - customer service slow to rectify / refund
I ordered an ereader about 4 weeks ago and am still awaiting it!
Conversations with customer service are like trying to pull hen's teeth...each email takes an average of 3 days to be answered and often asks the same question!
I'm now going through PayPal to try and get my money back as Rakuten are dragging their heels in resolving this!
It's a shame because their readers are supposedly the best, however, if you are going to order, I recommend doing through your credit card or PP so you have some level of protection

A good light-weight e-reader
Needing a new e-reader I went for the new Rakuten Kobo. It has certainly changed since I bought my first one many years ago. I enjoy the back lighting which saves me putting on any light to read late at night. It is really clear to read and so light as well. A real joy and glad I bought it. Fully recommend it.

Product Never Received
I never received my reader despite the system saying that it was delivered. I am still awaiting a reply after three weeks. Terrible service.

Hopeless company with no interest in actually fixing things
I've had kobo ereaders of various models for about a decade now but have decided my current one is the last, I am done with them. Every reader I've had has had the same issues. They freeze up for no reason while reading and force you to restart them, once it finally turns on again all reading progress has been lost. I've told Kobo about the issue so many times, if I'm in warranty they offer a new one, outside warranty they offer a refurbished one. I'm done with all that hassle, all the company needs to do is get off their backsides and actually fix the problem. After a decade surely that's not too much to ask? I so wish Kobo and Kindle hadn't smothered the market, Sony ereaders were soooo much better.

KOBO not cancelling order NIGHTMARE!!!
Bought a KOBO Libra 2 online at this site (I am in UK). As per my UK Consumer Rights I chose to change my mind and cancel after only 24 hours or less. The item had not been dispatched and my original intention was to cancel and purchase locally as delivery was to take up to 10 working days! However KOBO links cancellations to CHAT and CHAT agents cannot cancel. Apparently some 'specialised' staff do that? The chat agent seemed unable to tell me when it would be cancelled and although it was not dispatched that i should refuse receipt? Hardly a GREEN action. Surely better to cncel immediately? After a very long chat where I pointed out that KOBO would have to pay for return as I had cancelled before dispatch as the chat was ending the agent asked me if I wanted to place a request to cancel??? They still had not cancelled!!! Clearly KOBO customer service is very poor and if you buy KOBO I think you will experience this so make up your own mind. My order is UK26255. I will no longer buy a KOBO now as I am put off.
I have rejected this delivery as per KOBO Customer Services so I will report back how long KOBO take to refund? I am afraid the platitudes in KOBO's response to the original review amount to nothing. Not at anytime has any KOBO representitive contacted me or RESOLVED THE ISSUE? Terrible company, imagine if your device became faulty or you had some other issue?

Good service but no repair service offered
The Kobo arrived in a reasonable amount of time and was easy to use. Unfortunately, it got dropped in the first few weeks of using it and now longer works. I was disappointed to see that there is no service to repair it even though it seems like a very common issue. And because it broke so easily and there is no way of repairing I will not be making the same mistake and buying another one.

I have already two tickets open at your support (still not a single reply from your customer service), i have also e-mailed you numerous times (still no response from your side), I have chatted with your customer service that said somebody would get back to me (still no update), I have reached out to you on your Facebook Messenger and the person who manages your social media told me that I have to wait for your customer service to get back to me,
It took you less than two hours two reply to my message here on Trustpilot, I wish your customer service would have been as reactive as you.
Now its been 4 days since I notified you about that the giftcard I bought is defected and still the issue is not resolved and I have no news from your customer service.

I bought a Kobo Clara with a 50 EUR gift card that was included in the box. The purpose was to bring it with me on my holiday to read some books. However when I tried to scratch of the silver lining on the gift card the code was printed on paper, and not plastic so the code was coming off as well while I was scratching. Its impossible to reveal the code without the code coming off. I immediately contacted Kobo's customer service through their chat, explaining the situation. The guy told me somebody would get in contact with me. After 24 hour, with no response from their side, I contact their customer service again through their chat. I explain the situation, provide him with the ticket nr and he says somebody will have a look at the issue and come back, but that it could take several days (!!!). This is not a technical issue. Kobo can easily top my account with the amount and simply de-activate the gift card (I have provided them with a photo with all details). I have paid for a product and gift card that I can't use on my holiday, and I feel extremely disappointed by their negligence. The persons I have been in contact with have been polite, but not been able to give me any kind of update on the status nor any information on when or how the issue will be solved. I cannot recommend anyone to buy a product from this company who fails to give a customer service, especially after a sale.

I was enjoying when reading a tell all book until I got to the final chapter which was a photographic insert and I unable to see any of the pictures. I’ve emailed the company and no response.

I managed to break the control button…
I managed to break the control button on the top of my old Kobo so it was time for a new one. This one is lighter and the case (additional purchase) is much better than my old one too (with a built-in stand which I had to purchase separately before). Really pleased with it and just love that it's a fire up and go as it picks up everything from my old Kobo.
The kobo nia runs out of charge…
The kobo nia runs out of charge overnight without being used. Called the help service & advised to reset it. Didn't change anything. Not as good as my old one.
